Production data lives on Motion’s hosted infra. Local demo may keep a database on your machine.

Your account (email, name, password hash). If you request access before an invite, the email you send us — plus optional name, role, and why. Quiet and open-loop signals from connected mail — not the whole mailbox. A small people list: name, email, last touch, short notes, one last inbound snippet. Drafts you review. Teach voice if you paste it. CRM contact signals if you connect one. OAuth tokens, encrypted at rest.
To rank Needs you we may send a shortlist (name, company, last touch, open-loop notes — not your mailbox) to Anthropic. To write drafts we may send Teach voice plus that light person context. Anthropic processes those requests for Motion. We don’t sell that content. Motion doesn’t train its own models on it. Nothing goes out until you approve the send.
Vendors that process a slice of the product for us — not buyers of your mail.
The people list, drafts, Teach, and connection metadata stay while your workspace is open. Disconnect deletes that provider’s tokens and stops new reads. We don’t keep a second mailbox.
Email us to export or delete what we hold for your workspace. There isn’t a self-serve dump yet. Disconnect on Connect removes that provider’s access.
Motion is a work product. Not for children, and we don’t knowingly collect from anyone under 13.
